First off, welcome to the site! It to has been hard for me with finding a "good" bluegill lake. But as far as perch, check out Loon lake in Benzie fish in the 60 ft of water area. Another good spot for good perch is Crystal lake, try over by the marina, you will see the small town of shanties! I do know that people have been running machines on Skegemog for a while now, and last night there was machines running CLOSE TO SHORE (wouldn't try out much farther on Green), and have heard some rumors about machines on Long. But again ice can always change so, please be careful and check ice before bringing out machines!!!

thanks for the advice!I must have made it sound like i have a machine but I dont! but it sounds like i need one to get to all the good spots! I dont mind walking but i would like to think that Im gonna be rewarded for all the extra work!! anyway enough of that! i camp a platte river in the summers and get into the surf for salmon and coho so im familiar with loon lake! that looks like a good spot for us to start on saturday morning! if that doesnt work crystal isnt too far from that so it looks like thats our plan weather pending! THANKS AGAIN! Craig

I am heading to Loon tomorrow first thing, I will let you know how the day goes! If no action we will pack up and give another lake a try=) Will post details! People have been catching walleyes on Long Lake, if you don't mind the hike check out around the islands! People are reporting some keepers but also a lot of small ones. Good luck!
