Loon Lake, Benzie and Green lake, Traverse

posted Feb 07, 2012 05:02:59 by MIRusticOutdoors
Loon Lake had about 5 inches of ice by the public access, open water where the Platte river comes into the lake. Picked up a nice 13 in rainbow trout, other people where catching decent sized perch.

Green Lake is still producing a nice smelt bite, got 130 tonight off the public access on Betsie River road. Ice was 2 inches clear and 2 to 3 inches foggy.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
